Best Before DatesUpdated 10 months ago

PhD only supply products with a best before date and do not sell anything with a use by date. We have conducted extensive shelf life trials for all our products and determined exactly when they are at their optimum for taste, flavour and effectiveness for sports nutrition. Testing has been completed in house to guarantee that we provide our customers with only the best quality products and have set the best before dates accordingly.

There is a fundamental difference between a expiry date and a best before date. An expiry date is about food safety where the foods can only be eaten until that date but not after. A best before date is about food quality and not food safety. The food will still be safe to eat after that date, but may not be at its best.

Our products are not only safe to use after this date but they will continue to be robust and effective for some considerable time afterwards. We have erred on the cautious side when setting the dates as certain flavours, vitamins and minerals do diminish over time and our focus is the quality and performance of our products to help athletes achieve their goals.

Please note: Each batch has a new best before date generated so we cannot advise what your best before date will be for the product you purchase as they are picked at random. However, our minimum guarantee is 3 months + on bars/gels, and 6 months + on tablets/powders.

If an item is short dated (less than our minimum guarantee) this should be advertised on site in red font in the item description.
